Pavement renewal at the Karl Marx Monument
Construction work begins on 26 August
On Monday 26 August, work will begin to renew the pavement to the left of and in front of the Karl Marx Monument. Most of the paving slabs on an area of around 300 square metres are broken and loose and therefore no longer safe for traffic.
The construction work is expected to take two weeks. The area will be cordoned off to pedestrian traffic during this time. Road traffic will not be affected.
The costs amount to approx. 25,000 euros. The work is being carried out by Wächtler Tiefbau, Chemnitz.
The entire square around the Karl Marx Monument is to be renovated in further sections. A time frame for this has not yet been set.
