Paths in Chemnitz Pelzmühlenpark are being renewed
Construction work begins this week
Work to renew the paths in Pelzmühlenpark will begin this week. The water-bound path surfaces around the Pelzmühlenteich (with the exception of the private path areas of the former swimming hall and in the vicinity of the restaurant) will be given a yellow Ostrava path surface so that they are also uniform in colour.
The work will be carried out in sections. For construction reasons, the car park paths can only be used to a limited extent, i.e. it will temporarily not be possible to walk around the pond. The local barriers of the construction company must be observed.
In the northern part of the park with the pavilion and pergola, the water-bound path surfaces will also be renewed and the equipment, i.e. benches and litter bins, in the pergola will also be replaced. In addition, the severe subsidence in the paving will be levelled with the slate slabs.
The total costs for the construction work amount to 139,700 euros. (The litter bins and benches were procured in advance.) The company Reino GmbH from Geithain was commissioned to repair the path surfaces.
Completion of the construction work is scheduled for the end of July 2024. In addition, the water-bound path surfaces will need to be re-rolled as part of completion maintenance by 30 November 2024.
