From the beginning of September, the surface of the path along Hartmannplatz will be renewed. Specifically, this concerns the path that runs along the foot of the steep slope from Hartmannstraße, past Hartmannplatz to Fabrikstraße (cycle and footpath). Work will begin next week with the construction site being set up and the path closed off.
The path will also be completely closed at times during the construction work.
The water-bound path surface is heavily worn due to heavy use. The surface layer will therefore be repaired over an area of 1,400 square metres.
The construction work will be carried out in two sections. The first section from Hartmannstraße to the end of Hartmannplatz is expected to last until mid-October.
Hartmannplatz is a central event area in Chemnitz city centre. The adjacent path structure also connects Konkordiapark with the city centre and Falkeplatz.
The construction costs for the project totalled around 76,000 euros.
The work is being carried out by the company Garten- und Landschaftsbau Gert Findeklee GmbH & Co KG, Chemnitz.
