Participatory budgeting: next participation in playgrounds and future projects

Topics for public participation confirmed - New members in the steering group

In the next participatory round of the Chemnitz participatory budget, the topic of "Provision and operation of public playgrounds" will be discussed from the autumn. Further participation on "future projects" will take place at a later date. This was decided yesterday evening by the steering group, consisting of city councillors, expert residents and the administration.

From 16 April to 7 June, Chemnitz residents were invited to express their opinions on the participation platform buergerhaushalt.chemnitz.de. In addition to suggestions from the steering group, participants were also able to contribute and discuss other ideas. The topic of "future projects" emerged from the comments made by participants on the participation platform, as they wanted to be involved in major projects and discussions on investments at an early stage.

New members in the steering group

Two new members took part in the participatory budgeting steering group, who were elected by the city council on 10 July. After a previous member was unable to continue his involvement for personal reasons, Ralph Beckert and Ralph Burghart were confirmed by the City Council as representatives of the citizens.
