Parkour facility in Konkordiapark completed

The next attraction for recreational sporting challenges in Konkordiapark - the parkour facility - has been completed and will be opened for use next Wednesday, 11 May 2016,
4 p.m. by Mayor of Construction Michael Stötzer.
Parkour is a trend sport in which the active participants - known as tracers - run up walls in a swing and use muscle power to acrobatically climb obstacles, jump over them and constantly develop new ways (routes) to overcome obstacles that others would not dare to tackle. The completed parkour facility is a system of stainless steel poles and concrete elements at different heights, which was developed together with the users and had been on the "wish list" for the Konkordiapark area since 2010.
The system has now been realised at a cost of around 78,000 euros (two thirds of which is funding from the Socially Integrative City programme) and was built by Fachcenter Garten + STL-Bau GmbH from Heinersdorfergrund.
At the opening, some of Chemnitz's route designers will be showing samples of their skills to interested parties and the media.
