Parking ticket machines closed from 28 December to 2 January
Once again this year, the flaps of the dispensers on all municipal parking ticket machines will be locked over New Year's Eve. This has proved to be a good practice in previous years: To prevent fireworks from being ignited in the dispenser compartment, the flaps are blocked to prevent costly damage.
The parking ticket machines will be out of operation from Friday, 28 December 2012 until midday on Wednesday, 2 January 2013.
Drivers please note: As no parking tickets can be purchased during the "closing time", please insert the parking disc when parking. The permitted parking time can be seen on the car park signs and on the machine labelling.
In Chemnitz, a total of almost 70 parking ticket machines will be locked. They will be locked during 28 December by a specialist company commissioned by the city. On the same day, immediately before locking, the machines will be emptied by a cash transport company also commissioned by the city.
