Pakistan of all places - an adventure trip to a foreign country

The Environmental Centre invites you to the lecture "Pakistan of all places? - Adventure trip to a foreign country" in the Friedenskirche, Kaßbergstraße 30 due to building work. Interested parties are cordially invited. Admission is free.
Background:
Joachim Krause - author and former environmental officer of the Protestant Church - travelled to Pakistan in autumn 2015.
The curious pensioner gathered his first impressions in Islamabad, the capital of the "Islamic Republic". He then travelled along the adventurous Karakoram Highway, passing the geological "crumple zone" formed when three high mountain ranges (Himalayas, Karakoram and Hindu Kush) collided. He stood in awe and amazement in front of 7000 and 8000 metre high mountain giants (e.g. Nanga Parbat). The members of the tour group were able to relax in paradisiacal oases in the middle of the rocky desert, then there were exciting jeep rides along cliff edges and challenging scrambling tours on foot. Sometimes caring guards with machine guns accompanied the group, they had many encounters with hospitable, open-minded people, met veiled women and visited ancient remains of Greek and Buddhist culture.
