Over-allocation of funds for youth welfare
At its meeting today, the City Council decided to allocate additional funds totalling EUR 9,825,473 to the youth welfare budget. This is to cover the additional need for higher case numbers in the area of educational assistance and fee increases.
The number of cases in the area of educational assistance has risen by 5.4 per cent compared to the previous year. In addition, higher personnel costs were incurred by the operators of youth welfare centres due to wage increases. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a further increase in cases is not expected until later in the year.
