This year’s outdoor swimming season begins on Thursday 14 May at the Gablenz and Bernsdorf * outdoor swimming pools. The Wittgensdorf and Einsiedel outdoor swimming pools will open for the season on Saturday 23 May. The reservoir in Rabenstein will open as early as the beginning of May.
The outdoor swimming pools are open at the following times:
Pre-season, 14 May to 3 July / Post-season, 17 August to 30 August | |
Monday to Friday | 11.00 to 18.00 |
Saturday/Sunday | 10 am to 6 pm |

In addition, during the peak season, Bernsdorf Outdoor Swimming Pool offers early-morning swimming in the 50-metre pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30 am.
During periods of particularly fine weather, the pools may remain open later in the evenings during the early and late seasons. This decision is made by the pool staff, depending on weather conditions and operational readiness.
The outdoor swimming season ends on 23 August at the Einsiedel outdoor pool and on 30 August at the Gablenz, Bernsdorf and Wittgensdorf outdoor pools. We reserve the right to close the outdoor pools or end the season early due to weather conditions.
Furthermore, in the event of unfavourable weather – as was the case last year – the indoor pool at Bernsdorf will be open to the public at weekends during the early and late seasons, instead of the outdoor pool.
During the outdoor swimming season in the school holidays, maintenance and repair work will be carried out at the indoor swimming pools, as is the case every year. Where possible, the pools’ annual closure periods will be used for this purpose:
