Outdoor pool season in Chemnitz - 2016 balance sheet
Thank you to the bathers
The past summer with its mixed swimming weather (especially in the peak season, i.e. the July/August holiday period) meant that the city of Chemnitz's outdoor pools were well attended, but not as well as in the picture-book summer of 2015, despite the recent beautiful summer days and several extensions to the outdoor pool season.
The Chemnitz outdoor pools counted around 92,000 bathers in 2016, a visitor figure that does not come close to the previous year's peak figure of around 137,000 bathers.
"The good number of visitors again this year shows that the people of Chemnitz feel at home in the outdoor pools. They are thus honouring the recreational value and quality of use of the outdoor pools. This motivates us and our employees to continue to keep the outdoor pools' offerings diverse in order to constantly improve their attractiveness and customer satisfaction," says Norman Schröder, Head of the Pools Department at the Education and Sports Office.
"Once again this year, we would like to express our sincere thanks for the trust placed in us by the many bathers. At the same time, the department would also like to expressly thank the many helpers for their support as lifeguards, pool assistants and cashiers," said Schröder.
