Outdoor pool season begins
Gablenz and Wittgensdorf will be the first facilities to open on Thursday
The Chemnitz outdoor pool season starts on Thursday, 18 May. It starts with the outdoor pools in Gablenz and Wittgensdorf. The outdoor pool in Einsiedel will then open on 27 May.
The outdoor pools are open at the following times:
Pre-season, 18 May to 2 June: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Pre-season, 3 to 30 June: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
High season, 1 July to 20 August: 10 am to 8 pm
Post-season, 21 to 27 August: 11 am to 7 pm
During the main season, early swimming is offered on Tuesdays in the Wittgensdorf outdoor pool and on Thursdays in the Gablenz outdoor pool from 9 am.
This year, the open-air pools will once again host swimming festivals with numerous attractions:
2 July: Einsiedel outdoor pool
8 July: Wittgensdorf outdoor pool
9 July: Gablenz outdoor pool
Children's Day will also be celebrated at the Gablenz outdoor pool on 1 June. From 2 to 5 pm, mats, swimming noodles, beach balls and a climbing mountain will be available for all kinds of fun in the water. Children and young people (with school ID) pay just 1 euro admission.
On 17 September, there will also be a model sports day at the Gablenz outdoor pool, and paw swimming is planned for 10 September at the Wittgensdorf outdoor pool.
