Outdoor pool season 2022 starts
The Chemnitz outdoor pool season starts on Saturday, 7 May. It starts with the outdoor pool in Wittgensdorf. All water lovers are invited to swim there from 11 am. One week later, on 14 May, the outdoor pool in Einsiedel will open. The Gablenz outdoor pool is expected to open on 11 June. Work is currently still being carried out on the membrane roofing of the entrance and function building. The Bernsdorf outdoor pool will remain closed until the end of 2023 due to the construction of the new swimming complex.
The outdoor pools are open at the following times:
Pre-season, 7 May to 3 June: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Pre-season, 4 June to 1 July: 11 am to 7 pm
High season, 2 July to 21 August: 10 am to 8 pm
Post-season, 22 August to 4 September: 11 am to 6 pm
If the weather is exceptionally fine, the pools may open an hour earlier or stay open an hour longer in the early and late season. The decision is made by the pool staff.
During the main season from 2 July, the outdoor pools in Wittgensdorf (Tuesdays) and Gablenz (Thursdays) offer early swimming from 9 am.
The outdoor pool season in the Einsiedel and Wittgensdorf outdoor pools is scheduled to end with the summer holidays on 28 August.

Summer closing times of the indoor pools:
Every year, the summer holidays are used to carry out necessary maintenance and repair work at the indoor pools. The indoor pools are therefore closed during the following periods:
City pool:
- 50-metre hall: 8 to 28 August
- 25-metre hall: 18 July to 7 August
- Sauna: 30 May to 11 September
Indoor swimming pool "Am Südring": 13 June to 28 August*
Gablenz indoor swimming pool: 13 June to 28 August*
Indoor swimming pool in the Sportforum (not open to the public): 18 July to 28 August
Special opening times at the municipal pool
To support swimming clubs that are restricted in their preparations for competitions due to the summer closing times of the indoor pools and for swimmers who would also like to use an indoor pool during the summer school holidays, special opening times are offered in the municipal pool. As things stand at present, the 50-metre hall will be open from 13 June to 7 August and the 25-metre hall from 8 to 28 August.
