Outdoor facilities at the Michaelstraße daycare centre are being renovated
At its meeting today, the city council agreed to completely renovate and redesign the outdoor facilities of the Michaelstraße 58 daycare centre. The daycare centre building is also currently being completely renovated.
The outdoor facilities of the daycare centre will include a new sand play landscape with a watercourse trough made of granite paving, river pebbles and boulders. A water mud system and several awnings for shade will be integrated.
In addition, two sand play areas will be created for the crèche areas, which will also be equipped with sun sails and wooden seat cushions around the perimeter.
New play equipment will be installed to offer the children a variety of exercise options. This includes a two-tower play area made mainly from recycled materials, a double swing and a triple gymnastic bar, both made from sturdy logs with steel anchors, as well as a trampoline measuring approx. 1.50 x 2.50 metres.
For crèche children, a play paradise is being created from predominantly recycled, weather-resistant and robust materials, a playhouse and a play hut made from robinia wood, a four-person seesaw and a nest swing, both also made from robinia trunks with steel anchors.
Furthermore, an exercise construction site, which is surrounded by robinia trunks, sandstone blocks and granite paving, as well as an area for two willow tepees will be created.
The football pitch will be renovated and equipped with two football goals, a ball catching net, a basketball hoop and a grandstand mound.
Three hornbeams will be planted to provide shade for the terraces. Flowering shrubs will be planted to replace uprooted shrubs. The grounds will also be planted with ground cover and a solitary shrub in the entrance area as well as newly laid lawns with sports and play turf.
The driveway and courtyard will be partially resurfaced. Barrier-free main entrances will be created for House 1 and House 2. The approx. 30 metre long fencing will also be renewed, including a gate. The terraces will be resurfaced using existing materials that have been stored temporarily. The paths and other traffic areas will also be renewed.
The costs for planning and execution total around 602,600 euros. The construction work is scheduled to begin in October 2022, take place in parallel in three construction phases and be completed in October 2023.
