Opening photo exhibition - "Out of the ordinary"
East-West" project in Chemnitz and Würselen at the adult education centre
On Tuesday, 19 June 2018, 6 p.m., the exhibition "Out of the ordinary" by photo circles from Chemnitz and Würselen under the direction of professional photographer Vladimir Shvemmer will open in the VHS Gallery on the 4th floor of the TIETZ. Prof Dr Vladimir Shikhman from Chemnitz University of Technology will speak at the opening about "The peculiar in painting, literature and music". All interested parties are cordially invited to attend. Admission to the opening and exhibition, which can be seen until 15 July 2018 during the usual opening hours of the adult education centre, is free of charge.
The photo exhibition was already shown in Würselen (in North Rhine-Westphalia) at the beginning of 2018. Expanded to include photos from Chemnitz, it marks the start of the "East-West" project, which runs from 2018 to 2019. The project is being realised by the two photo circles from Würselen and Chemnitz, each led by Vladimir Shvemmer, and deals with the topic of "border experiences" using art photography. As part of the photo project, reciprocal visits by the photo friends in Würselen and Chemnitz are planned. The exchange under the motto "Border Experiences" will result in another photo exhibition, which will be on display in both cities in 2019.
