Opening perspectives through corona tests and digital support
Trial use of various systems in the city was successful
The city of Chemnitz draws a positive conclusion after the test run with digital systems for corona testing and contact tracing. Mayor Ralph Burghart said today after a video conference with participants from business, administration, catering and retail that the test runs have shown that opening up facilities with the help of testing and contact tracing systems works.
"Daily negative tests and the collection of a small amount of personal data in such systems make it possible to carry out click & meet in retail, cultural or sporting events in a safe environment. At the same time, in the event of an infection, the data is immediately available to the health authorities for contact tracing and thus for containing the infection. This is a good perspective for openings in the city," says Burghart.
The city had tested the processes with apps and digital systems from providers Theed, be safe, pass4all and Luca on several occasions. Attention was also paid to making these options accessible to people without a smartphone.
Depending on the regulations of the new Corona Protection Ordinance of the Free State of Bavaria, which will apply from next week, such opening scenarios could then be used as early as after Easter.
