Opening of the Sachsenhalle delayed by a few days
The reopening of Sachsenhalle scheduled for 18 March has been postponed by 5 days to Saturday 23 March. This is due to the current weather situation and supply bottlenecks. The expert inspections required for commissioning can therefore only take place next week.
The aim is to put the hall into operation with the Bummi competition of the Stadtsportbund Chemnitz e.V. planned for 23 March. The alternative times made available in other sports halls for lessons and training during the closure period of the Sachsenhalle are still available.
The extensive refurbishment work is taking place in the area of alarm technology and fire protection and also includes the complete renewal of the sports hall ceiling including the sound system. The costs totalled around €822,000, with the project being financed by €168,400 in subsidies in addition to the company's own funds.
