Opening of the new Schloßstraße daycare centre
Invitation to the press and photo session: Wednesday, 1 June, 3 pm, Schloßstraße 16
On Wednesday, 1 June at 3 pm, Social Mayor Dagmar Ruscheinsky and Building Mayor Michael Stötzer will officially open the new daycare centre at Schloßstraße 16, opposite the sports hall at Schloßteich.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to this event. The opening ceremony will be followed by a tour of the new building and the grounds, during which a mosaic of broken tiles will be created by children and parents for the daycare centre.
The new daycare centre is located in the Brückenpark, a green area between the Chemnitz river and the Schloßteich pond. The new two-storey building will be attended by 150 children in a total of ten groups. For this purpose, four group rooms for the crèche (under three years) with 50 places have been set up on the ground floor, six of which are for children with disabilities. Six group rooms for a total of up to 100 kindergarten children (over the age of three) have been created on the upper floor.
The costs amount to around 6.8 million euros, of which 4.9 million euros were financed by subsidies from the VwV Investkraft "Bridges to the Future" programme.
Some tenders had to be repeated due to uneconomical results or insufficient participation, and there were also delivery problems. All of this meant that the daycare centre was commissioned later than planned.
