Opening of the day care centre Am Heim 15a
Press invitation: Tuesday, 1 September, 9 a.m.
On Tuesday, 1 September at 9 a.m., Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig will open the day care centre Am Heim 15a. Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend.
After a year of construction, the new daycare centre now offers space for a total of 119 children. There are 30 places for crèche children and 89 places for kindergarten children, including five places for integrative children. The daycare centre employs 13 nursery teachers. The two-storey, barrier-free building has a playable outdoor area of approx. 2,500 m². A special feature of this new building is its construction for generating solar energy. The building was designed so that a large proportion of the energy required for heating and hot water is generated and stored by solar cells and a large buffer tank. The daycare centre is also connected to district heating.
The educational concept focuses on inclusive educational work with high quality standards and an educational understanding of learning from and with each other. The educational spaces are designed for and with the children and a wide range of experiences and educational stimuli accompany the children as they grow.
The total costs for the new daycare centre building amounted to 6.13 million euros, of which 1.73 million euros came from subsidies.
