Opening of the 2015 YouthArtTriennial of the Saxon-Bavarian city network

The Youth Art Triennial of the Saxon-Bavarian City Network will open in Bayreuth on Saturday, 17 January at 1 p.m. in the RW21/City Library. Thirty-six young people from Chemnitz took part in the competition, 30 of whom were given the opportunity to present their artworks at the exhibition in Bayreuth by the jury.

The young exhibitors from Chemnitz also include seven competition winners: Thea Kleinhempel from Chemnitz will be honoured with one of the two main prizes of the 2015 JugendKunstTriennale in the 19 to 25 age category for her collage "Das Taub-Stumm-Alphabet". The following will be honoured with a recognition prize, endowed with 200 euros each: Margarete Rödel (collage "Das Eigene Ich"), Madeleine Geißler (watercolour/fineliner "Klassengesellschaft"), Sophie Valentin (photography/print on aluminium "Parken in gekennzeichneten FlächenI+II), Vivien Nowotsch (painting "Losgelöst"), Caroline Nowotsch (painting "Stille Wiese") and Sina Grosch (photography "Eigenschuld")."

The JugendKunstTriennale is the largest joint cultural project of the member cities Bayreuth, Hof, Plauen, Zwickau and Chemnitz and offers an interesting insight into the current artistic achievements of young artists aged 14 to 25 from the catchment area of the city network.

The exhibition will be shown until 7 February 2015 at RW21, Bayreuth City Library, Richard-Wagner-Straße 21 and is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 7 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm (Sundays and Mondays are closing days). Admission is free.
