On Monday and Tuesday, 29 and 30 December, as well as on Friday, 2 January 2026, the following offices and facilities of the City of Chemnitz will be open:
Citizens' Office:
The registration office, the vehicle registration office and the driving licence office will be open as normal on Monday, 29 December. On Tuesday, 30 December, and also on Tuesday, 23 December, the Citizens' Office will only be open until 3 pm.
The registry office will be closed to visitors on 29 and 30 December.
On 2 and 3 January 2026, the Citizens' Office will be closed altogether.
Public authority telephone number 115:
The public authority telephone number 115 will be available with staff on 23, 29 and 30 December from 8 am to 3 pm. Outside office hours, callers will be redirected to the 115 voice dialogue system (SDS) and will receive information on their concerns around the clock.
Food and veterinary office:
Consultation hours for those authorised to hunt are on 29 and 30 December and 2 January 2026 from 8.30 to 10 a.m.
Botanical Garden:
The facility is open on a regular basis.

Animal park and game enclosure:
NOTE: The zoo will be closed on Sunday, 28 December due to icy conditions.
Both facilities are open as normal.

City library:
The facility will also be open as normal on the three days of 29 and 30 December and on 2 January.
