Opening hearts to new sounds and new people

Charity concert for refugees and with refugees

The women's centre Lila Villa in the association akCente e. V., the migration officer and the migration advisory board of the city of Chemnitz and the Chemnitz Municipal Music School invite you to a benefit concert for refugees: On 28 November 2015, from 7 pm (admission from 6.30 pm) in the new concert hall of the Municipal Music School, Gerichtstraße 1, 09112 Chemnitz.

On this evening, all of the guests' senses will be spoilt: with the sounds of other countries, profound texts and an international buffet. Heart, mind and soul come together when Mai Alkurdi, Youssef Bash (Syria) and Pedro Martin Montero Pérez (Peru) take to the stage. Accompanied by Sabine Kühnrich and Ludwig Streng from Chemnitz (Quijote group), the adult orchestra and the Klezmer ensemble of the Municipal Music School as well as a few other surprise guests, they will transport the audience to another world and motivate them to join in.

The charity event will be hosted by Prof Dr Teresa Pinheiro from the Institute of European Studies, Chair of Cultural and Social Change, at the Faculty of Philosophy at Chemnitz University of Technology.

Admission costs 15 euros. The proceeds will benefit projects for asylum seekers. The concert project is sponsored by the Free State of Saxony.
