At its meeting today, Chemnitz City Council decided that there will be the following district-specific open Sundays next year:
- On Sunday, 9 March 2025, in the Röhrsdorf district
Limited to the Chemnitz Centre, sales outlets may open between 12 noon and 6 p.m. on the occasion of the "Spring Stroll Market with 20th Anniversary of the Chemnitz Dance Sports Centre e. V." event. - On Sunday, 5 October 2025, in the Röhrsdorf district
Limited to the Chemnitz Centre, sales outlets may open between 12 noon and 6 p.m. on the occasion of the event "Erlebnis- und Jubiläumströdelmarkt (30 Jahre) mit Premiere Bilderausstellung Kulturhauptstadt 2025 im Chemnitz-Center". - On Sunday, 30 November 2025, in the city centre district
In the city centre district, sales outlets may open between 12 noon and 6 p.m. on the occasion of the Chemnitz Christmas Market. - On Sunday, 14 December 2025, in the city centre district
In the city centre district, sales outlets may open between 12 noon and 6 p.m. on the occasion of the Chemnitz Christmas Market.
The regulation is based on the Saxon Shop Opening Act, which authorises the opening of sales outlets on special occasions.
