Open Sundays decided for 2021
There will be a total of four Sundays open for business this year. This was decided by Chemnitz City Council at its last meeting.
- On Sunday, 10 October 2021
In the Röhrsdorf district, sales outlets may open between 12 noon and 6 p.m. to mark the "25th anniversary stall market".
- On Sunday, 7 November 2021
In the Hilbersdorf district, sales outlets may open between 12 noon and 6 p.m. on the occasion of the club festival with mascot parade.
In the Stelzendorf district, sales outlets may open between 12 noon and 6 p.m. on the occasion of the "Rumopern im Neefepark" event.

In the city centre district, sales outlets may open between 12 noon and 6 p.m. on the occasion of the Chemnitz Christmas Market.
- On Sunday, 12 December 2021
In the city centre district, sales outlets may open between 12 noon and 6 p.m. on the occasion of the Chemnitz Christmas Market.
The regulation is based on the Saxon Shop Opening Act, which authorises the opening of sales outlets on special occasions.
