Open Sundays decided for 2014
At its meeting today, Chemnitz City Council decided on the dates for the four Sundays open for business in Chemnitz in the coming year. The following days have been determined on which sales outlets in the city of Chemnitz may be open between 12 noon and 6 pm:
Sunday, 5 October 2014 - on the occasion of the "Autumn Festival of Fashion" event
Sunday, 2 November 2014 - on the occasion of the event "Chemnitzer Kulturtage - Alles Theater"
Sunday, 7 December 2014 - on the occasion of the Chemnitz Christmas markets
Sunday, 21 December 2014 - on the occasion of the Chemnitz Christmas markets.
The regulation is based on the Saxon Shop Opening Act of 1 December 2010, which allows retail outlets to be open on up to four Sundays per year from 12 noon to 6 p.m. for special occasions.
The four dates decided by the city council were agreed and confirmed in advance between the city, tradespeople and traders' associations, representatives of the retail trade, the city council parliamentary groups and the trade union ver.di.
