Only limited use of Bahnhofstrasse

Directional lanes are reduced to one lane per direction

From Tuesday, 11 April, traffic on Bahnhofstraße between Brückenstraße and Reitbahnstraße will be restricted. The carriageways will be reduced to one lane in each direction. It will not be possible to enter Zschopauer Straße.

Traffic will be diverted via Annaberger Straße and Gustav-Freytag-Straße. The following diversion is recommended from the north-east: Coming from Dresdner Straße or Frankenberger Straße from Thomas-Mann-Platz via August-Bebel-Straße - Müllerstraße - Mühlenstraße - Theaterstraße.
A traffic jam warning LED display is planned in the Thomas-Mann-Platz area.

The reconstruction of the temporary traffic routing on Bahnhofstraße will begin at around 9 am and will be fully in place by 2 pm.

The restrictions are necessary in order to completely renew the road surface of Bahnhofstraße. During this construction phase, which will last until 13 June, most of the Bahnhofstraße/Zschopauer Straße junction will also be renewed.

Unfortunately, detours for pedestrians and cyclists will be unavoidable until then.

In the subsequent final construction phase, the access road from Zschopauer Straße to Bahnhofstraße will be renewed and remaining work carried out until 30 June.

Traffic will be reopened in sections until 30 June. The new traffic lights will also be in operation by 30 June.

The final road markings will then be applied during the summer holidays while traffic continues to flow.
