Online to the office - online dog registration launches in Chemnitz
Since mid-March, Chemnitz residents have been able to register their dogs with the city online. This service is the first building block in the implementation of the Online Access Act (OZG). This law obliges federal, state and local authorities to offer all suitable administrative services in Germany digitally via administrative portals by 2022 and to link their administrative portals to form a network. 34 online applications have already been received.
In Saxony, a joint project approach is being implemented between the Free State and its municipalities. In future, citizens, companies and associations will be able to easily access online administrative services via Saxony's cross-administration service portal "Amt24"(www.amt24.sachsen.de). The prerequisite for using the services is the one-off and free registration and creation of a service account ("My service account") on the Amt24 service portal.
The specific online service (here "Register dog") can then be used by Chemnitz residents at www.chemnitz.de/hundeanmeldung.
Mayor Sven Schulze: "Reducing bureaucracy also relies on the use of digital possibilities. Going live with the online "dog registration" process is a first important step towards implementing digital citizen services on the cross-administrative Amt24 platform. This is also possible thanks to the close cooperation between the Free State of Saxony and the municipal family."
Further online services are currently being developed in the Saxony-wide joint project involving Komm24, SAKD and the participating Saxon municipalities.
