One-off children's leisure bonus of 100 euros
Social welfare office provides information on payment to entitled persons
On 5 May 2021, the German government adopted the "Catching up after coronavirus for children and young people" action programme. A key component of the action programme is the so-called children's leisure bonus. The aim of the children's leisure bonus is, among other things, to support children and young people in taking advantage of individual leisure or sports activities, especially during the holidays, and to catch up on what they have missed.
For this reason, underage children and young people from families who receive benefits according to SGB II, SGB XII, AsylbLG, BVG or families with a lower income who receive the child supplement or housing benefit are to receive a one-off children's leisure bonus of 100 euros per child.
Payment of the children's leisure bonus depends on which of the above-mentioned benefits the beneficiaries receive in August 2021:
SGB II | Payment is made automatically without application by the Chemnitz Job Centre. |
AsylbLG | Payment is made automatically without application by the Chemnitz Social Welfare Office. |
BVG | Payment is made automatically without application by the Saxony Municipal Social Association. |
Child allowance | Payment is made automatically without application by the Family Benefits Office of the Federal Employment Agency. |
Housing benefit | Payment is made by the Family Benefits Office of the Federal Employment Agency. An informal application is required for this. The application can be found at www.familienkasse.de from July 2021. |
