One head of office elected by the city council

At its meeting yesterday, the city council elected a new head of office and a new head of department.

Beate Frech-Döring has now permanently filled the position of Head of the Cash and Tax Office and Michael Walter that of Head of the Information Processing Office. Both had already held the positions on an interim basis.

Beate Frech-Döring is at home in Chemnitz and has worked for the City of Chemnitz in various positions since 1997. The Cash and Tax Office is responsible for taxes, reminders and enforcement.

Michael Walter was born in Chemnitz and has a degree in computer science. Before joining the City of Chemnitz five years ago, he held various specialist and management positions at IT companies. The Office for Information Processing is responsible for the IT infrastructure of the City of Chemnitz. The Statistics and Elections Department is also assigned to this office.
