On the trail of the snapshot
Adult education centre: Photojournalist Harry Härtel - on 31 May, 7 p.m., TIETZ, event hall
On Tuesday, 31 May, from 7 to 8.30 pm, the adult education centre invites you to an event with the experienced press photographer Harry Härtel in the TIETZ event hall. In his lecture "On the trail of the snapshot - the everyday life of a photojournalist", he will talk about the principles of his work based on many years of professional experience and answer questions about the processes involved in everyday editorial work. Admission is free of charge.
It's hard to imagine a daily newspaper without photos. Stories and reports attract more attention when suitable images illustrate the text content. But how does the picture actually get into the newspaper? Harry Härtel will describe this process. He will answer these questions, among others: How are the images created and how are they edited? What criteria are used to select the photos? What influences the decision? What principles guide the photojournalist? Harry Härtel will also be happy to answer questions from participants.
The event is part of the vhs project "trau.schau.wem? faktenfest und mediensicher". It is dedicated to the topics of media work, journalism and dealing with the media in a variety of formats such as workshops, lectures and guided tours.
