Official household survey

European Union Microcensus and Labour Force Survey 2017

As every year, the official household survey "Microcensus and Labour Force Sample of the European Union" will be conducted nationwide in 2017 on the basis of the Microcensus Act.

Over the course of the year, approximately 20,000 households in the Free State of Saxony will be interviewed by survey officers from the State Statistical Office about their household, family and employment situation. The survey officers are now on their way to interview selected households in Saxony.

Households in buildings that have been selected using a mathematical-statistical random procedure are included. There is a legal obligation to provide information for each selected household.

The survey officers from the State Statistical Office announce their visit in writing or in person and can of course identify themselves with an interviewer ID card from the State Statistical Office, which is valid in conjunction with the identity card.

The survey officers of the State Statistical Office are committed to data protection. All information collected is subject to the strictest confidentiality. The individual details obtained are used exclusively for the purposes specified by law.

Households can choose between the interviewer survey and providing written information directly to the State Statistical Office.

The statistical results from the microcensus surveys in Saxony are available to all interested parties via the publications of the State Statistical Office.

Citizens' enquiries about the microcensus can be directed to the Statistical Office of the Free State of Saxony, tel. 03578 33-2110, or to the Municipal Statistics Office in the Office for Information Processing of the City of Chemnitz, tel. 0371 488-7473.
