Official household survey
European Union Microcensus and Labour Force Survey 2018
As is the case every year, the annual official household survey "Microcensus and Labour Force Sample of the European Union" will be conducted in the Free State of Saxony in 2018, as in the whole of Germany, on the basis of the Microcensus Act.
During the course of the year, approximately 20,000 households in the Free State of Saxony are interviewed by survey officers from the State Statistical Office about their household, family and employment situation. Questions are also asked about their housing situation and internet usage. The survey officers are now on their way to interview selected households in Saxony.
Households in buildings that have been selected using a mathematical-statistical random procedure will be included. Each selected household is obliged to provide information.
The survey officers from the State Statistical Office announce their visit in writing or in person and can of course identify themselves with a special ID card from the State Statistical Office, which is only valid in conjunction with the identity card.
The survey officers of the State Statistical Office are committed to data protection. All information collected is subject to the strictest confidentiality. The individual details obtained are used exclusively for the purposes specified by law.
Households can choose between the interviewer survey and providing written information directly to the State Statistical Office.
The statistical results from the microcensus surveys in Saxony are available to all interested parties via the publications of the State Statistical Office.
