Office for urban cultural management moves to TIETZ
Full availability at the new location from 25 November 2015
The Office for Urban Cultural Management (formerly the Cultural Office), the Contact Point for Cultural Education and the office of the International Stefan Heym Society are moving from Getreidemarkt to TIETZ, Moritzstraße 20, 09111 Chemnitz on 23 and 24 November 2015.
All known telephone numbers and e-mail addresses remain valid. Availability may be restricted on the days of the move.
The cultural management is moving into offices in the TIETZ in the so-called Basarkehaus, the TIETZ extension on the corner of Moritzstraße and Reitbahnstraße. From 30 November 2015, the contact persons of the Cultural Education Contact Point and the office of the International Stefan Heym Society will have a new place to work in the foyer of the TIETZ, on the ground floor in a shop (towards Moritzstaße).
In spring 2016, this shop will become the KulturRAUM, where the Office for Urban Cultural Management will advise Chemnitz cultural institutions on cultural promotion and further promote the networking of the city's cultural scene.
Since 1 July 2015, the Office for Urban Cultural Management has been part of the newly created structural unit "Office 41 - Cultural Operations" within Chemnitz City Council. In addition to the cultural management department, cultural operations also include the city library, the adult education centre, the Museum of Natural History, the municipal music school and the city archive. With the reorganisation, the City of Chemnitz aims to bundle cultural tasks and strengthen the TIETZ as a place for education and culture in Chemnitz.
