Oberfrohnaer Straße local shopping centre

Remodelling of Oberfrohnaer Straße in two construction phases

Via the implementation agreement for the project-related development plan no. 13/13 "Nahversorgungszentrum Oberfrohnaer Straße" Rabenstein, the project and development developer intends to build a food market. A customer car park with 103 parking spaces will also be built. The project is being realised by RTLL Verwaltungs GmbH & Co KG and RTLL Generalbau GmbH from Zwickau.

The road at Oberfrohnaer Straße 63/65 needs to be redesigned to connect the new supermarket: A pedestrian crossing aid (central island) will be built to improve the pedestrian connection to the Rabenstein Centre. At the same time, the bus stops at the Rabenstein Centre will be made barrier-free in accordance with the latest guidelines and equipped with passenger information systems. Cyclists will have a protective lane marked on the carriageway in this area in the direction of Riedstraße. The project is being realised by the company Dietmar Mothes GmbH in two construction phases.

The first construction phase begins next Wednesday, 28 October, and concerns the landward side of the carriageway including the central island. This construction phase is scheduled for completion by 18 December 2015. After a winter break, the second construction phase on the city-side carriageway will take place at the beginning of 2016. During the construction work, traffic travelling into the city on Oberfrohnaer Straße will always be guaranteed. Traffic travelling towards the countryside will be diverted via Trützschlerstraße / Harthweg to Oberfrohnaer Straße.

The costs for the redesign of the carriageway will be borne by the investor of the shopping centre.
