NUMIC synthesis workshop on urban mobility

The NUMIC project team, consisting of representatives from the City of Chemnitz, Chemnitz University of Technology and other partners, invites you to the "Urban mobility between science and practice" event on Tuesday 17 May from 2 pm. After a year of the NUMICO model route from the Sportforum to the Zeisigwald and further research into citizen participation, the results will be discussed with experts and the people of Chemnitz.

NUMIC began in September 2019 and has since tested a participatory planning approach for sustainable mobility with various participation formats and structural urban changes. From the workshop on car park construction to the NUMIC app, the citizens of Chemnitz have also repeatedly contributed their local knowledge. These experiences will now be analysed together.
The synthesis workshop will begin with a panel discussion with Janna Aljets from Agora Verkehrswende, Frank Kutzner from Wegebund, Alexander Kirste as a representative of the City of Chemnitz, Transport Planning, and the NUMIC team. NUMIC will also be represented by Madlen Günther from Chemnitz University of Technology, General & Occupational Psychology Research Group, and Bjarne Lotze from the City of Chemnitz as NUMIC project coordinator. The panel will discuss the question of how research findings on urban mobility can be utilised in the day-to-day practice of politics and administration. The reflection will be further deepened by a keynote speech by Dr Bernd Bienzeisler, Fraunhofer IAO, on paths of urban mobility cultures. The event will conclude with three parallel workshops on the topics of participation, municipal room for manoeuvre and sustainable mobility concepts using data solutions.
