NSU travelling exhibition project tender
The City of Chemnitz, the Municipal Prevention/LAP/Participation Department, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Family, intends to fund a travelling exhibition dealing with the National Socialist Underground (NSU). A project grant of up to 100,000 euros from the action fund of the federal programme "Demokratie Leben" (Living Democracy) is being offered. The deadline for submitting application documents is Friday, 12 February 2021.
Content of the project:
- Development of a concept for a multimedia travelling exhibition on the NSU
- Creation of the exhibition
- Documentation in written or digital form
- Presentation of the accompanying concept and for categorisation in the social context
The following evidence and declarations must be submitted for the call for proposals:
- Proof of qualified references for completed projects
- Binding declaration of compliance with the specifications for awarding contracts for goods and services
- Proof of the required qualifications of the personnel deployed
The awarding of the project cost subsidy will be decided on the basis of the funding guidelines of the City of Chemnitz and the federal programme "Demokratie Leben".

The exhibition describes the impact of the NSU on society and the social space of the city of Chemnitz. It reflects on the effects of the NSU on how racism is dealt with in society. The exhibition raises awareness by presenting the individual fates of the victims of the NSU. It contains statements on the dimension of the NSU's impact up to the present day and transformation for the further handling of racism in society. The exhibition sheds light on the criminal behaviour of the perpetrators (attacks on banks, department stores, murders). Statements are made about the locations of the exhibition. The project concept includes statements on target group acquisition and public relations work.
