No parental contributions for daycare and after-school care during the lockdown
City of Chemnitz reimburses parental contributions for this period
Parents whose children have not been cared for in a daycare centre or after-school care centre during the lockdown since mid-December 2020 do not have to pay parental contributions for this period.
The City of Chemnitz will transfer back the parental contribution for the month of December 2020 on a pro rata basis.
No parental contributions will be collected in mid-January 2021. An extra application does not need to be submitted. No direct debits will be made in January.
Parents who transfer the contribution themselves do not need to make a transfer for January 2021. Standing orders should be adjusted by parents. If the lockdown is extended, the parental contributions already paid will be offset against the next due date. Parents whose children are in emergency care must pay the fee.
*Note: The press release was subsequently edited on 13 January 2021. The original version of 8 January only referred to daycare centres, but the regulations also apply to after-school care centres.
