Next stage of the car park concept delayed
The second stage of the parking space concept for the city centre cannot start as planned on 1 September. This is due to delivery difficulties for components for the parking ticket machines, meaning that they cannot be completed in time. This will delay the introduction of the new Zone C and Zone D parking management areas.
It is currently not possible to estimate when the machines will be ready for use. The City of Chemnitz will provide information on the new date in good time.
The issue of resident parking permits for the new resident parking zones will be postponed accordingly.
The parking concept for the city centre is based on a resolution passed by the city council in 2017. According to this, stage 2, zone C, was to be implemented in stages from 1 September and zone D from 1 October.
