Next siren test alarm on 3 December

Also nationwide warning day on 8 December

On Saturday, 3 December at 11 a.m., the sirens in Chemnitz will be tested again - as on the first Saturday of every month - with a test alarm.

Chemnitzer Verkehrs-AG (CVAG) will once again be taking part. It supports the city of Chemnitz in warning the population of dangers and is further optimising the necessary technical processes. In the event of a test and warning, announcements will be made via the dynamic passenger information displays (DFI) at CVAG stops. The information will also be displayed visually both at the stops and on the infotainment displays in the buses and trains.

The city of Chemnitz will publicise the test alarm in advance on its social media channels in several languages - German, English, Ukrainian and Arabic.

The subsequent test alarm is scheduled for Saturday, 7 January.

Nationwide warning day on 8 December

The nationwide warning day, in which the city of Chemnitz is also participating, will take place this year on Thursday, 8 December. At 11 a.m., the sirens and CVAG bus stops will sound the "Warning of danger" tone (one minute wailing tone, i.e. six tones lasting five seconds each with a five-second pause), but without a gong or voice announcement. The following text is planned for the display boards: "Trial warning nationwide warning day 2022". The all-clear will then be given at 11.45 a.m.: the warning tone for the all-clear (1 minute continuous tone) will sound and the text "All-clear nationwide warning day 2022" will be displayed.

The warning via cell broadcast will be tested for the first time on the nationwide warning day on 8 December. This will send a warning message directly to mobile phones. No other means of warning can reach more people.
