Newly built playground in Gessnerpark opens
Invitation to the photo session: 10 June, 3 p.m., Grüna Park on Chemnitzer Straße
On Friday, 10 June at 3 pm, Mayor Michael Stötzer and the head of Grüna, Lutz Neubert, will inaugurate the newly built playground in Grüna Park on Chemnitzer Straße (also known as Gessnerpark) together with residents of the district.
Local residents, children and representatives of the media are cordially invited.
With its diverse climbing and sliding options, challenging tunnel bridge and nest swing, the play landscape invites children to play together and was realised following a competition for play equipment.
The table tennis table, which was still in good condition, was retained for older children and young people as well as adults. Benches and litter bins in the playground were added or replaced.
The costs totalled around 122,000 euros, with the landscaping and play equipment each costing half. The construction project was implemented between 30 September 2021 and 1 June 2022, with an interruption during the winter months.
LABLAND Landschaftsarchitektur took on the planning and construction supervision on behalf of the Chemnitz Parks Department. Together with the landscaping company Grünland GmbH and the play equipment manufacturer Proludic GmbH, an exciting play landscape has been created that blends harmoniously into the small park and offers children a wide range of play options.
