New version of the waste fee statutes adopted
At its meeting yesterday, the City Council approved the new version of the City of Chemnitz waste fee statutes with retroactive effect from 1 January 2022. The new statutes are valid until the end of 2023.
After twelve years of stability for the basic household fee and regular emptying fee, the fees must now be adjusted. The fee equalisation provision, which records the additional income compared to the calculation, has been used up in recent years.
The basic fee per household will therefore rise from 32.16 to 37.20 euros per year. This corresponds to a monthly basic fee per household of 3.10 euros. This also includes the use of Chemnitz's five recycling centres and the free disposal of bulky waste once a year.
The standard emptying fee for residual and organic waste has also been adjusted. The fee is determined by the number of waste containers set up per property, the type of waste container (authorised waste container sizes) and the emptying frequency ordered in each case.
The costs, which are based on the actual volume of waste produced (mass fee), will increase from 16.2 cents per kilogramme to 18 cents per kilogramme for residual waste. The recycling costs for organic waste will rise from 4.4 cents to 6.2 cents per kilogramme.
The fee for the 60-litre green waste sack for the collection of excess quantities of green waste (such as hedge and shrub cuttings, grass cuttings, leaves, weeds) as a year-round service for delivery to municipal recycling centres (bring system) remains stable.
