New sports area in the Richard Hartmann Hall - another delay in the end of construction

The completion of the new sports area in the Richard-Hartmann-Halle has been delayed again. As things stand at present, it is assumed that the Richard-Hartmann-Halle can be reopened for training, competitions and lessons from 23 September 2019. The date of 9 September announced in June cannot be met.

Despite great efforts, including weekend work, the specialist planners and construction companies involved had to concede the delay. The high fire protection requirements require more extensive measures than initially assumed. For example, the fire protection panelling cannot be completed and finished as standard, but must be individually adapted on site.

The planned maintenance work on the hall technology, which normally takes place annually during the summer holidays, could also not be carried out to the planned extent.

For this reason, the construction schedule has been redesigned. Construction is now scheduled to end on 13 September 2019. The entire hall will then have to be thoroughly cleaned.

The Richard Hartmann Hall has been closed since the end of May 2019 as the hall floor is being renewed. Construction was originally scheduled to end on 12 August 2019 so that it could be used again at the start of the 2019/2020 school year.
