New Schloßstraße daycare centre can be found in the daycare portal
Registrations for the facility under construction are now possible
Parents can now register their child for a place at the new daycare centre at Schloßstraße 16 via the City of Chemnitz's daycare portal. Link to the City of Chemnitz daycare centre portal
Construction work is currently still underway on the new building in the immediate vicinity of the Schloßteich pond. The day-care centre is expected to open at the beginning of June.
In accordance with an individual familiarisation concept, the children will be admitted step by step - until the daycare centre's total capacity of 50 places for crèche children and 100 places for children of kindergarten age is reached. The daycare centre is inclusive and has six places for children with disabilities. Barrier-free access to and within the building is guaranteed.
The girls and boys aged three to six years have access to various educational rooms, such as a construction room, role-play room, studio, workshop, exercise room, dream library and a children's restaurant. The light-flooded educational islands are designed to stimulate the children's senses to create and experiment on their own. The educational staff regard the children as "researchers and scientists". Situations for the children to have a say and participate in decision-making are created specifically to encourage the children in their self-determination and social interaction.
Children under the age of three are acclimatised individually in the separate toddler area on the ground floor.
Parents are the most important caregivers and are therefore welcome guests at the daycare centre. A successful educational partnership includes reliable transparency in the work of the childcare professionals.
