New scale of charges for the municipal museums of the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz
At its meeting today, the City Council approved the City of Chemnitz's new fee structure for the museums Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz, Museum Gunzenhauser, Schloßbergmuseum, Burg Rabenstein and the Henry van de Velde Museum in Villa Esche.
The introduction of the Mini (one adult and at least one child) and Maxi (two adults and at least one child) family tickets is intended to incentivise regular family visits to the museum and cater for different family constellations. The family offer will be rounded off by revising existing and introducing new educational programmes, such as family courses and children's birthday parties.
Also new is the combined ticket, which is valid in all museums including Rabenstein Castle, as well as an annual combined ticket for all museums of the Chemnitz Art Collections. Every first Friday of the month, visitors receive free admission to the museums of the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz. This offer is initially valid until 31 December 2020.
The new fee schedule introduces evening opening in the museums. This means that visitors will receive a 50 per cent discount on day tickets and group tickets in the individual institutions one hour before closing time.
The new fee schedule comes into force on 1 July 2019.
