New playground opens on Rödelwaldstraße
On Saturday, 19 August, the playground on Rödelwaldstraße in Klaffenbach will be reopened. The paths, grass and play areas have been thoroughly renovated. The playground had been severely damaged after heavy rainfall last year and had to be closed. Construction work began on 5 June 2023.
Due to the good weather conditions, i.e. lots of rain and warm temperatures, the grass has grown faster and the playground can be opened ahead of schedule - for the start of school on Saturday.
The head of Klaffenbach, Andreas Stoppke, will be on site at around midday (12 noon).
The construction costs amount to around 30,000 euros. The company Grünbau Bad Schlema GmbH was commissioned with the work. The planning and local construction supervision was carried out by the green space department of the city of Chemnitz.
