New playground on Kapellenberg

Loritzingstraße/Haydnstraße playground to be renovated

The public playground on the corner of Lortzingstraße and Haydnstraße is to be redesigned. To this end, the partially cordoned-off play equipment will be demolished and a new, coherent playground will be built. This facility consists of a tower with a slide, a swing combination with a nest swing and two climbing combinations for different age groups, surrounded by a fall protection surface made of wood chips.

The existing trees will be retained and the already overgrown shrub area will be cut back. The seating areas will be redesigned with six partially refurbished benches and three litter bins and replanted with new shrubs. The lawn area will be extended and a table tennis table installed.

The construction work is being carried out by the company Techno-Farm und Service GmbH. The new facility was planned by JACOB + BILZ landscape architects.

Construction is scheduled to start on Monday, 21 October 2019. The construction and planting work should be largely completed by 30 December 2019. Remaining landscaping work is scheduled to be completed by 30 May 2020. The newly created vegetation areas will be maintained by the contractor until 30 October 2020.

The total costs for planning, construction and planting services as well as the production and installation of the play equipment amount to approx. 198,000 euros.
