Marcus Kropp will be the new operations manager of the municipal waste disposal and city cleaning company of the city of Chemnitz (ASR) and the waste disposal company of the city of Chemnitz (ESC) from July 2022. The Chemnitz City Council elected the 43-year-old yesterday as the successor to Dirk Behrendt, who did not extend his contract for personal reasons. Marcus Kropp will also take on the role of Managing Director of the municipal subsidiary WeTraC GmbH, which is responsible for emptying the yellow bins.

Marcus Kropp, born in Karl-Marx-Stadt, has been employed at ASR since 2005 and previously worked as Head of the Technical Department. The business administration graduate has also held the positions of deputy operations manager at ASR and authorised signatory at WeTraC and has managed the company on an interim basis in this role.

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze: "I am delighted that Marcus Kropp will be able to contribute his many years of experience in the municipal waste management industry to this position and seamlessly take over the fortunes of the city's own operations ASR and ESC."
