New microprojects for Chemnitz2025

The fifth funding round for small projects by citizens ended on 30 September

For the fifth time, Chemnitz residents were invited to get involved in city life with small projects on the way to becoming the European Capital of Culture 2025. The application deadline ended on 30 September. A total of 21 applications were received by the European Capital of Culture Office this time, including several from young initiatives. Thematically, the projects deal, for example, with the design of urban spaces through art and greenery, with the history of our city, with sport and cultural education for children and young people.

A total of 15,000 euros is available for this funding period. In addition, KLUB2025, an initiative of regional companies, chambers and credit institutions to support Chemnitz's bid to become European Capital of Culture 2025, has signalled that it will support up to four additional applications in order to facilitate further ideas.

The projects to be supported will be selected by a jury of Chemnitz residents appointed by the programme council for the bid.
