New mayor of Department 5 elected

Dagmar Ruscheinsky was elected Mayor for Department 5 - Education, Social Affairs, Youth, Culture and Sport - by Chemnitz City Council yesterday. She prevailed in the second round of voting.
Dagmar Ruscheinsky is 62 years old and married. The current head of the management staff at the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning worked in Chemnitz for many years before her time in Berlin.
In 1999, the German studies graduate and trained journalist started working for the Freie Presse, where she held various management positions. In 2007, she moved to Stadtwerke Chemnitz, the predecessor of eins, where she worked until her move to Berlin in 2015.
