New HLF 20 for fire and rescue station 2

Invitation to the photo session: 20 May, 2 p.m., main fire station, Schadestraße 11

On Friday, 20 May at 2 p.m., Mayor Ralph Burghart will hand over a new emergency fire fighting vehicle (HLF 20) to the staff of Fire and Rescue Station 2 in Chemnitz.

Representatives of the media are invited to attend.

The new vehicle replaces the 15-year-old Mercedes Benz 1329 AF fire engine (first registered in 2008), which is now being retired.

The Free State of Saxony is contributing more than half of the total costs of around 350,000 euros for the vehicle procurement (194,000 euros).

From a technical point of view, the new HLF 20 represents a clear generation change. The vehicle has the latest ALPAS superstructure (aluminium panel system), which enables significant weight savings with optimum use of space and longer durability. The latest version of the "Z-Control" control station offers intuitive operation and thus increases safety on emergency journeys. The built-in pressure proportioning system for foam guarantees an output of 24 l/min and is supplied from the permanently installed foam tank. In keeping with the times, the HLF 20 is equipped with powerful LEDs that illuminate the vehicle and its surroundings efficiently and in an energy-saving manner.
