At its meeting yesterday, the city council elected Martin Reinhold as the new head of the civil engineering department. The 41-year-old succeeds long-serving head Bernd Gregorzyk, who is retiring at the end of March.

Martin Reinhold lives with his family in Zwickau and has worked for many years in management positions for the Siemens Group in southern Germany. The qualified engineer will take up his new position as soon as possible.

In addition to the transport authority, the civil engineering department is also responsible for the departments for the construction and maintenance of roads and bridges as well as transport planning.
